Yellow Jackets Set for 7-on-7 State Championship

The Stephenville Yellow Jackets are headed to College Station this week to compete in the prestigious Dave Campbell’s Texas Football 7-on-7 State Tournament after earning their spot with a dominant performance at the Brownwood State Qualifier.

Stephenville enters the Division II bracket after going undefeated in qualifying play, defeating Glen Rose (34-7), Wall (31-7), McGregor (45-18), and Jim Ned (33-0). Now, the Jackets will test themselves against some of the top Division II programs from across the state.

Tournament action begins Thursday with pool play. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m., and games will kick off at 10:00 a.m. Each pool consists of four teams, with every team guaranteed three games during Thursday’s action.

 

Unlike traditional tournament formats, all teams will advance out of pool play and into Friday’s Championship Bracket, ensuring every program gets an opportunity to compete for a state title.

Championship Bracket play begins Friday morning. Division III teams will start bracket action at 8:00 a.m., while the Division II Championship Bracket—featuring Stephenville—will get underway at 8:45 a.m.

Tournament officials note that game times and field assignments are subject to change based on weather conditions, field conditions, and other logistical factors.

The Yellow Jackets will look to carry the momentum from their impressive qualifier run into College Station as they compete for a Dave Campbell’s Texas Football 7-on-7 State Championship.
