XC Teams Battle Strong at McNeil Invitational

ROUND ROCK, TX – The McNeil Cross Country Invitational kicked off bright and early this morning in Round Rock, where the Honeybees and Yellow Jackets went stride for stride against some tough statewide competition.

In the 4A Girls division, Stephenville finished 7th overall with 305 points. Leading the way was Halle Rust, who crossed the line in 11:56.30, securing an impressive 13th place finish. Close behind her was Miley Magin (12:19.90), followed by Bellamy McEvoy (12:40.00), Rebekah Evans (13:17.50), Gracie Pisano (13:33.20), Kathryn Wuensche (13:37.20), Mercedes Cordes (13:51.00), and Hannah Evans (14:42.50)—all fighting hard for the team.
On the boys’ side, the Yellow Jackets finished 18th overall. Jacoby Tooley had a great performance, clocking in at 16:39.40 to claim 4th place overall in the 4A Boys race. The Jackets’ pack followed with Garrett Mader (18:21.50), Hayden Bailey (18:33.60), Caleb Singleton (18:53.80), Michael Sims (18:57.10), Weston Bartee (19:08.30), Simon Elliston (19:46.40), Houston Herbst (20:09.90), and Omkar Kannan (20:25.30) rounding out the team effort.
The Honeybees and Yellow Jackets showed grit and determination on a fast course filled with top-level competition—continuing to make Jacket Nation proud.
