Ville Sports | This Week (April 27 – May 3)

It’s a big week for Stephenville athletics as multiple Yellowjackets teams and athletes take the next step in postseason competition.

Track & Field
Stephenville Track & Field is headed to the Region 1 Meet in Lubbock. Athletes will compete Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd at PlainsCapital Park’s Lowrey Field, with events beginning at 10:00 AM each day. The Jackets will be chasing top finishes and a shot at advancing to state.

Baseball
Yellowjacket Baseball is officially playoff-bound and gearing up for the Bi-District round. The series kicks off Wednesday, April 29th, as the Yellow Jackets travel to Abilene Christian University for Game 1. First pitch is set for 7:00 PM on the Home 3rd base side.

Game 2 will take place Friday, May 1st, back at Abilene Christian, with a 3:00 PM start on the Visitor 1st base side. If needed, Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd at 5:00 PM, also at Abilene Christian. Field details for the series are still to be announced, so stay tuned for any updates as Stephenville begins its postseason run.

Tennis
Stephenville will also be represented on the state stage as Rose Cordes competes in the State Championship Tennis Tournament next week. A huge accomplishment and an exciting opportunity to compete among the best in Texas.
