Midlothian– If on your “First Score of the Season” – Bingo Card you had Flea Flicker to Freshman, congrats you are the winner. The 55 yard play from Trot Jordan to Caden Monk would be the Jackets’ first offensive play of the game and Stephenville would never surrender the lead, winning 28-7 versus Heritage.
The Wardog defense would be just as impressive, only allowing 259 yards of total offense and one score to the Jaguars. Heritage passing on the game would be 6/18 for 108 yards and they would rush for 151. The Jackets held them to only 4/12 on the 3rd down conversions.

Offensively, for the Jackets, Zyler McClendon would lead the rushing attack with 98 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown. Stephenville would throw for 249 yards with Trot Jordan going 11/18, 207 yards and three touchdowns. Grayson Copeland was 3/3 and 42 yards.
Caden Monk would lead the Jackets in receiving with four catches for 140 yards and one touchdown. Brighton DeVivo would haul in two catches for 46 yards and a score with Jaden Lujan catching the other touchdown. Jhett Banuelos, Adan Jergins and Rhett Donham would have the other catches for Stephenville.

On special teams, the Jackets were impressive with kicker Rory McNeese being 4/4 on extra points, punter DeVivo averaging 42.5 yards on four kicks and the coverage team forcing a turnover with a fumble recovery inside the 10 yard line.

Next up for the Jackets will be the football stadium opener of Mike Copeland Field at Art Briles Stadium this Friday versus Everman. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
