Stephenville Opens District With Historic Win Over Gatesville

Stephenville TX – Stephenville team tennis opened district play with a strong performance, defeating Gatesville 13-6 in the first-ever district match held on the new SHS Tennis Courts.

In mixed doubles, the duo of Travis/Katy were in a  6-0, 6-0 victory over Myers/Cloulth.

The Jackets were especially dominate in boys singles, with Bryson, Travis, Ryder, Omkar, and Karsten all earning wins. On the doubles side, Stephenville finished 1-2 on the night.

The Honeybees were just as impressive in singles play, as Rose, Olivia, Katy, Maggy, and Libby all posted dominant victories. Despite going 1-2 in doubles, the girls battled in some close matches.

With the win, Stephenville Honeybee and Jacket tennis start district play at 1-0. They return to action on Tuesday, September 9th, hosting Lampasas with first serve set for 4:30 p.m
