Snyder, TX– At one point in the first quarter, Stephenville had run 25 plays to Randall’s three. The score was 14-0 and the Jackets’ version of “Keep Away,” had just gotten started. Stephenville would roll to a 51-6 victory in the Regional Semi-Final round in windy, cold conditions. After the game, Stephenville Head Coach and AD Sterling Doty said the conditions did dictate the methodical offensive approach of patience.

For the first time this season, the Jackets carried the ball 45 times. Those carries netted 227 yards with Zyler McClendon accounting for 105, Trot Jordan for 52 and Carter for VanZandt for 36. Stephenville also had four rushing touchdowns.

Defensively, the Stephenville War Dog defense was dominant again. The Jackets held Randall to 11 yards rushing as the the team from Canyon abandoned the rush attempts pretty early when they realized they couldn’t run with success against Stephenville. Randall was 16/32 for 171 yards passing as Stephenville held another team to below 200 yards of total offense. Cash Kribbs and Braxton Champion accounted for the two take-aways from Randall with each an interception.

Up next will be the rematch of the epic Regional Final from last year versus West Plains in which the Jackets lost 42-35. The game will be held at Lubbock ISD’s Lowery Field. Kickoff will be 7pm on Friday. Because of the distance to Lubbock and the subsequent team departure time, Coffee with Coach has been moved back to 10am on Thursday. The coach’s show is held each week at Barefoot Campus Outfitters. The Friday morning Pickers Show will also be moved back a day to Thursday at its normal time of 8:30am.
