SHS Bass Club Opens Season With Fourth-Place Finish at Lake Granbury
The Stephenville High School Bass Club got its season off to a strong start Saturday, Sept. 12, at Lake Granbury, placing fourth overall in a competitive tournament featuring 34 schools and 131 teams.
Stephenville anglers combined for a total team weight of 31.30 pounds, earning the Yellow Jackets a top-five finish in the season opener.
Leading the way for Stephenville were Carter Burks and Aidyn Garcia, who caught five fish weighing 12.55 pounds to finish ninth overall.
Hendry Osinga and Pecos Tally also delivered a strong performance, bringing in five fish for 10.32 pounds and finishing 16th.
Other Stephenville results included:
- Axle and Rhyker Dixon — four fish, 8.43 pounds, 26th place
- Jax Harmon and V. Stephens — three fish, 5.78 pounds, 40th place
- Bri Noland and Raeleigh McMillan — two fish, 4.52 pounds, 47th place
- Jagger Raymond and Boston Haley — one fish, 2.67 pounds, 63rd place
- Benjamin Koch and William Hershman — one fish, 1.94 pounds, 68th place
- Rhett Reed — one fish, 1.57 pounds, 76th place
The fourth-place finish gives the SHS Bass Club plenty of momentum heading into its next event. Stephenville will return to the water Oct. 10 at Lake Whitney.
With a top-five team finish and several anglers posting strong individual results, the Yellow Jackets have made an impressive opening statement as the season gets underway.
