Jackets Qualify for 7-on-7 State Tourney

Brownwood, TX– Stephenville went to the Brownwood State Qualifying 7-on-7 tournament this past weekend and went undefeated, securing their place at College Station later this summer. Fresh off their disappointing semi-final loss on the final play of the game to Dumas the week before, the Jackets would sweep their pool play action again this week. In the three pool play games, Stephenville beat Benbrook 27-19, Jim Ned 20-14 and Midland Christian 28-16. The Jackets then needed a win over Decatur in the semis to qualify. This would be accomplished by the score of 26-19. Graham would take the other qualifier position by beating Gatesville 33-25.
Stephenville has one more tournament this coming Saturday. They will play in the Jim Ned Invitational at Clyde. The state championship takes place in College Station, June 26-27.
