Jackets Post Win and Tie in Day One of Crowley Tournament

Game 1
Jackets Walk Their Way to Victory over Legacy
Crowley—Eve Campos pitched five complete innings and got the win 7-1 against Wichita Falls Legacy. Stephenville would only have three hits on the afternoon but drew seven walks that led to the seven runs.
Mason Weyers, Gunner Stone and Cutter Pack would have the three singles. Max Greeney and Pack would complete the win by throwing in relief in the final inning. Defensively, Cooper Heller at first base would cleanly play all six balls hit to his position. He had the most chances in the field with his six.
The Jackets improve their record to 5-2-1. Game two of the tourney would be later that afternoon.

Game 2
Stephenville Scores Late to Tie Trimble Tech
Crowley—Down 1-0 going into the bottom of the sixth, Jacket Mason Weyers would lead off with a walk and advance to second on a Gunner Stone single. Weyers would then steal third and score on a Jayden Ferguson sac fly. That score would prove to be the final run of the game and it ended 1-1 after eight innings.
Starter Ryder Baldwin would go six innings, giving up four hits and the one earned run. Baldwin would also strikeout six. Gabe Elms pitched the seventh and eighth in relief, only allowing one hit.
Cade Whitehead and Cutter Pack would lead Stephenville with two hits each. One of Pack’s hits was a double.
Stephenville’s record moves to 5-2-2 and returns to Crowley for games three and four of the tournament on Friday.
