Stephenville, TX — On the evening in which Mike Copeland Field at Art Briles Stadium was ceremonially dedicated with its first football game, the Jackets did their part by winning 45-0 over Everman. The weather on the other hand, wasn’t as hospitable, as an approximate one hour weather delay happened at the end of the first quarter. Then halfway through the fourth quarter, another delay occurred and the teams decided to go ahead and call it at that point.

As far as the game was concerned, the running attack of the Jackets was on full display. Zyler McClendon would pace the rushing with 211 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns. Carter VanZandt would also have an impressive evening with 95 yards on 11 carries and a score.

Defensively, the War Dogs would continue their stingy ways as they kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard. Through two games, the defense has only allowed a total of 7 points. On the Defensive stat sheet Caleb Taylor had a sack, Jackson Richmond and Kolson Tomlison each with a fumble recovery and both Caleb Garland and Kolton Dearth forced fumbles.
