Jackets & Bees Shine at Colonel Billy Mobley Optimist Relays

Stephenville, TX – The Stephenville Yellow Jackets and Honeybees put on a strong showing at the Colonel Billy Mobley Optimist Relays at Lem Brock Stadium, both finishing second overall in the team standings. The varsity boys racked up 114 points, highlighted by a dominant performance in the 4×200-meter relay, where Tristian Gentry, Simon Elliston, Willis Jackson, and C.J. Spellmeier blazed to victory in 1:28.88. Kolton Dearth added another gold for the Jackets, launching the shot put an impressive 53-4 to claim first place.

The Honeybees matched the Jackets’ energy, scoring 120.60 points behind several standout performances. Marin Copeland sprinted her way to two individual titles, winning the 200-meter dash in 26.73 and the 100-meter dash in 12.39. Bella Wade added to the success with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line at 1:01.96, while Aubrey Vanden Berge soared to victory in the high jump, clearing 5-2. It was a great day of competition, showcasing Stephenville’s talent on the track and in the field.
