Jackets & Bees Claim District Titles in Brownwood
Brownwood, TX – (Photos by Angela Haynes) Day 2 of the District Tennis Tournament in Brownwood was a huge success for the Stephenville Honeybees and Yellow Jackets!

Leading the charge were Laura Haynes and Travis Williams, who claimed the Mixed Doubles Championship, earning a trip to the Regional Finals. Joining them at Regionals are Katy Heller and Rhett Donham, who brought home 2nd place in mixed doubles.

On the boys’ side, the Yellow Jackets dominated, capturing the title of 2025 Boys District Champions! Gabe Cortez and Derrick Hunter secured 2nd place in Boys Doubles, while Ryder Sims finished 2nd in Boys Singles, earning his own ticket to Lubbock.

2025 Girls District Tennis Champions
Rose Cordes
The Honeybees were just as impressive, clinching the 2025 Girls District Championship as a team. Rose Cordes claimed the Girls Singles Championship and will represent Stephenville at Regionals in May. Olivia Cortez also turned in a strong performance, finishing 3rd in Girls Singles.

Up next: The Yellow Jacket and Honeybee Tennis Teams are headed to the 4A Regional Tournament, set for May 9-10 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
