Jackets and Bees Basketball Split with Brownwood

Stephenville, TX– The Honeybees were within four points of the state’s 9th ranked Lady Lions of Brownwood at halftime. But offensively, Stephenville was never able to get things rolling and ended up losing 46-32. The Bees were led in scoring by Iza Vandalsem with 12, Brooklyn Hardin with 9, Brinley Hall with 4, Kezlyn Jones with 3, Laynee Hodges and Taylor Berry each with 2.

Stephenville is now 3-5 in district and and 18-12 overall. Next up is the next to last district game. It will be on the road at Mineral Wells.

The Jackets won comfortably over the rival Lions in game two of the double-header. Stephenville would extend out to a 79-43 final score. Offensively, the final score might appear that the Jackets were on cruise control, but it wasn’t until the 4th quarter when things got cookin’.  Stephenville outscored Brownwood in the 4th quarter, 31-10. The Jackets were led in scoring by Austin Hardin with 22. Also scoring was Raidan Moody with 14, Dillinger Thiebaud with 13, Eli Espinoza with 9, PJ Greer with 8, Joe Agbaje with 6, Aiden Johnson with 5 and Trey Waddell with 2.

The Jackets improve to 4-2 in district and 25-3 overall. They also will play at Mineral Wells on Friday as game two of the double header with the Bees. The games can be heard on KSTV FM and viewed online at kstvfm.com.
