Honeybees Come From Behind to Top South Hills

Stephenville TX – With the Bees trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Stephenville put up three runs to secure the win 4-2.

In the bottom of the sixth Mattie-Lynn Dunnam tripled on a line drive to center field.  Ava Williams then singled scoring Dunnam to put Stephenville on the board.  Molly Hatton then laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Williams to third.  Up next was Marin Hill, who South Hills intentionally walked after her triple earlier in the game, putting runners on first and third. Macy Parker stepped to the plate and delivered a sacrifice bunt that brought home Williams and courtesy runner Kenzi Black. The throw to first got past the first baseman, allowing Parker to score from first and give Stephenville a 4-2 lead.

In the circle, Ally Allibee came in to relieve Dunnam in the fifth inning. She recorded four strikeouts, allowed just one walk, and gave up no runs on three hits in just over three innings of work.

Up next, Stephenville plays Granbury at home on Monday, March 9, first pitch at 6:30 p.m.
