Girls’ Cross Country Dominates at James Smith Invitational

Midlothian, TX – The Stephenville High School Girls’ Cross Country team laced up their speed shoes and left the competition in the dust at the James Smith Invitational this morning, claiming a commanding first-place team finish — and bringing home a medal for every runner.

With a total team score of 28 points, the Honeybees showcased their depth and determination, proving why they’re a force to be reckoned with this season.
Leading the charge was Halle Rust, who blazed through the course to take 1st place overall with a time of 12:38.41. She was followed by Miley Magin in 3rd place at 13:53.62, and Bellamy McEvoy in 6th with a 14:09.01. Rebekah Evans crossed shortly after in 7th at 14:25.69, with Mercedes Cordes placing 11th (14:53.56) and Gracie Pisano rounding out the squad in 14th (15:04.95).
All six runners medaled in the event — a rare and impressive feat that underscores the team’s unity, strength, and offseason preparation.
The Stephenville Boys Cross Country team placed 3rd and Jacoby Tooley placed 7th individually with a time of 16:45.54.
