Cross Country Runners Qualify for State

LUBBOCK, TX — The Stephenville Honeybee Cross Country team is headed to State after an impressive 4th-place finish out of 24 schools competing at the Regional Meet in Lubbock, marking just the second time in school history the program has qualified for the State Championships.

The Honeybees last made a State appearance in 1999, making this year’s achievement a historic return to elite competition. The team finished with a total of 164 points, securing their spot among the top contenders in Texas.

Running for the Bees were Hailey Rust, Bellamy McEvoy, Miley Magin, Rebekah Evans, Kathryn Wuensche, Gracie Pisano, and Mercedes Cordes.

For the Jackets, Jacoby Tooley has also qualified for State finishing 5th individually!

The UIL State Cross Country Meet will be held October 31–November 1 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, TX. The Honeybees are set to compete on Saturday, November 1st, at 8:15 a.m and the boys’ will follow immediately after at 8:45am.
