Bees Walk it Off to Cage the Lady Tigers

After a back and forth game, the Bees went into the bottom of the seventh tied 5-5 with
Glen Rose. Mattie-Lynn Dunnam was up first, she reached on an error by the Tigers third
baseman. Pinch-hitter, Emma Villegas, put down a perfect sacrifice bunt advancing
Dunnam to third. Koedee Self, who was 2-2 on the night, singled up to middle for the walk
off win.

The Honeybees went ahead 3-1 in the bottom of the second but gave up the lead in the top
of the third. A single by designated player, Meg McGregor, scored one to tie the game 4-4
in the bottom of the fourth. A leadoff single by first baseman, Jayci Smith, a double by
Reese Haggard, and an error by Glen Rose scored Smith to put the Bees on top 5-4. Glen
Rose then tied the game again in the top of the sixth. Strong pitching by reliever, Ava
Williamson, retired the side in the top of the seventh set the stage for the walk off by Self.
Williamson was tough in the circle, striking out eleven, allowing one run on three hits and
walking three. Senior, McGregor was 4-4 on the night, with four singles and two RBI’s, she
also leads the team with a .500 batting average.

The Bees host Grahan at home on Friday at 6:30, to try and even the series with the Lady
Blues.
