Jackets and Bees Punch Tickets to State Track Meet

Lubbock, TX – The Stephenville Yellow Jackets and Honeybees made their presence known at the UIL Region I-4A Track and Field Championships in Lubbock, wrapping up an impressive showing on Day 2 of the meet.

The Yellow Jackets secured a 2nd-place team finish with 76 points, behind Canyon who won the regional title with 91 points. The Honeybees also had a strong showing, finishing 5th in the girl’s division with 47 points.

Senior Tristian Gentry had a standout performance and will represent Stephenville at the UIL State Track and Field Meet in Austin (May 1–3) in three events. Gentry punched his ticket in the triple jump and long jump, and also helped power the boys 4×200 meter relay team to state qualification.

Kolton Dearth (shot put), Brinley Hall (shot put), and Marin Copeland (100m dash) also earned individual spots at the state meet. Hall, a junior, and Copeland, a senior, were key contributors to the Bees’ success.
