Stephenville’s Scrimmage Shuffle
The Stephenville High School varsity soccer teams are in full swing, sharpening their skills in a series of scrimmage games to prepare for the upcoming season. With a mix of returning veterans and promising newcomers, both the Honeybees and Yellow Jackets are working tirelessly to fine-tune their strategies and build team chemistry. The early matchups provide a chance to test different lineups, improve communication on the field, and get back into peak game shape before district play begins.
Their hard work was already on display Friday night, January 24th, as both teams secured victories against Waxahachie. The Honeybees controlled possession throughout their match, finding the net twice while shutting out their opponent for a dominant 2-0 win. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets engaged in a hard-fought battle, breaking through with a crucial goal to edge out a 1-0 victory. The defensive efforts on both sides were impressive, showing that Stephenville’s teams are ready to bring intensity and discipline to the pitch this season.
With momentum on their side, the Honeybees and Yellow Jackets will continue their scrimmage schedule, using each game as a stepping stone toward their ultimate goal—making a deep playoff run. The coaching staff remains focused on refining their squads, ensuring that Stephenville enters the regular season prepared for any challenge. If their early performances are any indication, both teams have the potential to make this year a special one for Yellow Jacket & Honeybee soccer fans alike. The next scrimmage game will be Tuesday, January 28th at Wylie.
