Jackets Host the Leslie Hughes Memorial Baseball Tournament

Stephenville TX – The Stephenville Yellow Jackets hosted the Leslie Hughes Memorial Baseball Tournament over the weekend. They had an impressive 5-1 record in the tournament. On Thursday they were 2-0, with victories over Waco Robinson 3-1 and Grandview 1-0. In the Grandview game the score was tied 0-0 when Cutter Pack scored on a walk by the Grandview pitcher, making the final 1-0 in a defensive battle.
Friday started with Maypearl, the Jackets dropped this game 4-2 but bounced back taking the victory over Lake Country Christian 5-1.
On Saturday, day three, the first opponent was Kemp, the Jackets scored 14 runs in that game, winning 14-7. The last game of the tournament was against McGregor, although it was a close one, Stephenville came out on top 3-2.
