Jackets Reign Down Scores on Lampasas

Stephenville, TX–Weather played a factor in another Stephenville football game but it wouldn’t slow down the Jacket attack as the Ville won easily 49-7. With the delays, the game was finally called official and over with 9:13 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter. The Jackets moved to 8-0 on the year and 2-0 in district. With Brownwood also winning Friday night, it sets up the district championship on Halloween at Gordon Wood Stadium.
Stephenville’s QB Trot Jordan was 14/18 for 276 yards and five touchdowns. Rushing for the Jackets was Zyler McClendon with 14 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns and Jordan with one carry for 44 yards. Receptions for Stephenville included Adan Jergins with six for 122 yards and two scores, Brighton DeVivo with four for 61 yards and one touchdown, Caden Monk with two catches for 62 yards and one touchdown, Rhett Donham with a 24 yard touchdown reception and McClendon with one for eight yards.
Defensively, three Jackets had interceptions. They were Cooper Rudd, Cash Kribbs and Cooper Fergason. Leading the War Dogs in tackles were Hudson Butchee with nine, Caleb Taylor with eight and CJ Spellmeier with seven.
